- Calypso Guide
-
- For a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to Calypso,
- read the Calypso Guide. The Guide can be found in
- the Help menu. To use Calypso Guide, click Help,
- Calypso Guide, then Contents. A list of chapters
- appears. When you double-click a chapter, a list of
- chapter topics appears. Double-click a topic to read it.

- Chapter Overview
-
- Chapter 1, "Getting Started," provides an overview of
- Calypso and describes the online Help.
-
- Chapter 2, "Calypso Mailboxes," describes how to create a
- mailbox, manage the mailbox, add other mailboxes, and
- organize messages.
-
- Chapter 3, "Mailbox Accounts," describes how to open,
- add, and manage e-mail accounts.
-
- Chapter 4, "Sending Mail," explains how to compose an
- e-mail message, reply to or forward mail, attach
- files, and check spelling.

- Chapter 5, "Receiving Mail," gives you options for mail
- notification, explains how to open mail, how to sort mail,

- 'What's This?' Help
-
- To learn what action a command performs or how a button
- or portion of the screen works, use 'What's This?' Help.
- To activate 'What's This?,' click the toolbar icon
- showing an arrow and question mark. The mouse pointer
- will change to an arrow and question mark. Move the
- pointer to the item on the screen about which you want
- more information. Click the item. A box appears
- containing information about that item. Click the mouse
- again to return the pointer to its normal appearance and
- operation.

- Hint: Right-click on the 'What's This?' text to see a
- shortcut menu.

- Find and Index
-
- To read about a particular topic, use the Find or Index
- tabs in the online Help.
-
- The Find tab is used to search for specific words or
- phrases. To use Find, click Help, Calypso Guide, then
- Find. Type a word or phrase in the top text box.
-
- The Index tab enables you to search for a specific word
- by typing the first few letters of the word. To use
- Index, click Help, Calypso Guide, then Index. Begin
- typing a word in the top text box.

- Technical Support

- If you have trouble installing, configuring, or using
- Calypso, please refer to the Calypso Frequently Asked
- Questions (FAQ) file on MCS' World Wide Web page. The
- address is http://www.mcsdallas.com.

- This file includes troubleshooting information as well
- as common problems other users have experienced while
- working with Calypso. If you cannot find help in the
- FAQ file, send an e-mail to calypso-support@mcsdallas.com.
- A technical support engineer will contact you in a
- timely manner.

- Converting a Mailbox
-
- If you would like to open a mailbox created with a
- previous version of Calypso, you will be required to
- convert and possibly rename the mailbox. You can open a
- mailbox created with a previous version of Calypso by
- using the Open command in the Mailbox menu or by using
- either Open a Mailbox or Browse for a Mailbox in the
- Welcome panel.

- When you convert a mailbox, all the information stored
- in the previous version is transferred to the new
- version.
-
- 1. When you open the mailbox, you will be prompted for
- your mailbox password if you have one. Type the
- password, then click OK.
-
- 2. The Mailbox Conversion dialog box appears. Change the
- mailbox name in the New Name text box.
-
- 3. Select the check box if you want to delete the
- previous version of the mailbox after it has been
- converted. Clear the check box if you want to
- continue using the mailbox with a previous version of
- Calypso.
-
- 4. Clear the check box if you do not want to create a shortcut to this mailbox on your desktop.
-
- 5. Click OK to convert the mailbox.

- Importing Address Books or Files
-
- Calypso's import function lets you import an existing
- address book or address file without retyping every e-mail
- address.
-
- 1. In the Mailbox menu, click Address Book, then click
- Import. This opens the Address Book Import dialog box.
-
- 2. Click the address book format to import.
-
- 3. Click OK.
-
- 4. Depending on the type of file you chose, do one of
- the following:
-
- * If you chose a Calypso or Eudora file, select the file
- from the Open dialog box and click Open.
-
- * If you chose a Delimited file, select the file from
- the Open dialog box and click Open. The Delimited File
- Import dialog box opens with the file name filled in.
- To select the delimiter, click the down arrow, then
- click the delimiter used for this file. Click OK.
-
- Note: Be sure each element in the imported delimited
- file corresponds to the order of Calypso's address
- elements.

- * If you chose a Microsoft Exchange or Netscape file,
- click the address book you want to import from the
- address book list. Click OK.
-
- 5. Calypso will import the address file. You can see
- which addresses are copied in the Calypso Import
- Status dialog box.

- 6. Click Close to finish.
